ICE OUT
Our first attempt at a citywide protest was a big success! We gathered in four places (originally five but one didn't work out), and each location had about fifty people gathered. The energy was good, even if the weather was the usual autumn meh.
What's been awesome to see during these ICE protests has been the solidarity with the Hispanic community. Part of our family is Cuban, and Cowlitz County is about 12% hispanic, but we have rarely addressed the issues of this community in the past. It's unfortunate that it took the Nazi tactics of the current administration for us to realize that, but I'm glad we are here now. We've made some new friends.
We've also become more connected with the Ethnic Sipport Council and will be working with them going forward on some big projects.
